What makes our patch unique?
Our pumpkin patch may look a little different from some pumpkin farms, this is because we grow our pumpkins in rows with plastic roll cover. The plastic roll cover is used for weed management. We are a 100% organic farm. Meaning we don't use pesticides or herbicide products on our fields. Since we don't use most weed killing products, controlling the weeds is essential to grow strong and healthy pumpkin plants.
What also makes us unique is we specifically grow crops in-between our pumpkins because when the pumpkin season is over our pumpkin patch is used as the home for our cows throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. These crops will feed our cows through the end of Fall. During the summer season and the beginning of fall our cow herd is at "summer camp" located up at the pastures in Finger Lakes National Forest through the Hector Grazing Association.
