About Our Chickens

We are excited to offer pasture-raised meat chickens, carefully raised by our very own Jason Carpenter at Wideawake Ranch. From the very beginning, the chicks are raised with care. They start in a brooder pen here at the farm, where they stay warm and safe as they grow. Once strong enough, they make the move to the pasture at Jason's homestead, just up the road.

The chickens live in a mobile shelter that provides plenty of fresh air, shade, and protection from the elements. This shelter is particularly important during their early stages, as the young birds are vulnerable to predators. Twice a day, the shelter is moved to a new section of pasture, ensuring the chickens always have fresh grass to explore.

In addition to grazing, the chickens enjoy foraging for bugs and worms, which supplement their diet with natural protein. They are also provided with fresh water and all-natural, non-GMO chicken feed from a local feed store to support their growth.

By offering a natural and free-range environment, we ensure our chickens are healthy, happy, and raised with the highest standards of care.

All our chicken is processed locally.

The approximate dressed weight of our chicken is 3-5 lbs.
