Our Pigs
We source our young piglets from a local breeder, and our pigs are a mix of Tamworth, Duroc, and Hampshire breeds. They arrive at our farm shortly after being weaned, where they begin their lives in a spacious, open-air building that provides plenty of shade and comfort.
Our pigs also enjoy an outdoor play area, where they can dig, root, and wallow in the mud—natural behaviors that are vital for their well-being. Rooting, in particular, allows them to use their snouts to explore the soil in search of food, such as roots and insects. This is an essential part of their natural instincts and helps keep them active and engaged.
We feed our pigs only non-GMO grains, supplemented with surplus vegetables from our farm. In the fall, they especially enjoy the cracked-open pumpkins from our organic pumpkin patch! It’s important to us that we never feed our pigs low-quality scraps. Providing them with high-quality food ensures their overall health and contributes to the exceptional quality of the meat they produce.
